DC Analysis Setup

DC Voltage Or Current Sweep

A DC Analysis is an analysis where a dc supply voltage is varied and the subsequent effects of such variation on other the dc voltages and currents in the circuit is examined.

Enter the voltage or current start, stop and step size. A voltage or current source that is to be swept must be selected using the list box.

Using many points may take a long time. If too few points are used, the graph will become jagged.

Display Device Operating Points

Check the "Display Device Operating Points" to enable display on the schematic of operating points such as gm, gds, vgst, gds when the mouse is moved over a component. Schematic Floating Labels should be enabled for this feature as there is typically too much data to be displayed in the bottom status bar.

Resistance Sweep

Selecting a resister will enable the schematic DC voltages and currents to be be plotted against a range of resister values.

For reference this is an extension to Standard Spice3/XSpice and is implemented by the additional spice engine command syntax:

.DC [RefDes] [start] stop] [step]

.DC Rx 1k 10k 500
